It actually happened…we opened a restaurant!
When Covid hit in the Spring of 2020, we got out of the city and headed to our favorite weekend spot, Flatonia, TX. We fell in love with the town and the people so much that when it came time to go back to the office, we stayed. The idea of opening a restaurant was something we flirted with but never really thought would one day be a reality. When fire burned a building on South Main to the ground in October of 2022, Gregg saw it as his chance and bought the newly emptied lot. It took much longer to get going than expected for this naïve pair, but Max catapulted us! A trained chef with extensive culinary experience despite his “Gen Z” status, Max helped design the kitchen and got us over the finish line in October of 2024.
Gregg and Max, the chefs behind Casey Lee’s, first met in December 2022 and quickly became friends over their shared passion of cooking. More than traditional BBQ, they take smoking and live fire cooking, pair it with fresh and mindfully sourced ingredients, and deliver unique mouth watering flavors. While we have some mainstays, their passion for playing in the kitchen keeps the menu dynamic so there is always something new to try!
Located in Flatonia on South Main just 3 minutes off Highway 10, we lovingly refer to the restaurant as a “glorified food truck”. Come grab some food at the window, sit on the deck under the shade of the pecan tree, and just have a good day :)
